We're looking for one great business to own and operate for the long term.

We're Sean and Sydney. We're longtime friends and hands-on operators investing our own capital, not a private equity fund. We're looking to acquire one established business in the tri-state area that we can own, operate, and grow for years to come.

A note from us

If you've spent years building a business,
what happens next matters.

We each grew up watching a parent build a business from scratch, and spent time working alongside them. We saw firsthand how much work goes into building something of your own and how personal it becomes.

We know that choosing who takes over your business is a big decision. It's about what happens to your employees, customers, reputation, and everything else you've spent decades creating.

That's something we take seriously.

A little about us

We've spent more than 20 years building and operating businesses in the tri-state area.

We've been involved in 10+ completed transactions as operators. Now, we're looking for one business we can own and build together for the long term.

Sean Patel

Sean is a manufacturing operator with experience across sales, operations, finance, and supply chain. He has worked at the executive level in multiple industrial manufacturing businesses, including a specialty chemical distributor and a paper & packaging manufacturer.

Most recently, he helped lead the growth of two businesses from $200 million to $500 million in revenue.

Sydney Marmel

Sydney is an operator who has built and scaled commercial teams, operations, and technology across several businesses. She has worked at the executive level in B2B services, retail, and tech-enabled businesses.

Most recently, she helped scale revenue 4x by building a sales team and process, improving operations, and modernizing infrastructure.

What working with us looks like

01

You talk directly to us.

We're investing our own money and making our own decisions. There aren't layers of other decision makers or a private equity firm behind us.

02

We take the time to understand the business.

Before asking for dozens of documents, we'd rather talk with you, understand how the business works, and learn what's important to you.

03

We figure out a fair path forward.

We'll tell you what we think, what we can do, and what we can't. We don't want there to be surprises along the way.

04

Then we get to work.

We're buying a business to operate it. Our personal commitment to showing up every day allows us to promise you that your legacy and employees will flourish.

Stewardship

What we hope to preserve

The people

Great businesses are built by great teams. We want to understand the people who have helped make the company successful and what matters to them.

The legacy

Customer relationships and a strong reputation can take decades to build. We wouldn't come in assuming they need to change.

The things that already work

We value what you have built. We aren't looking to change things simply for the sake of changing them.

The kind of business we're looking for

BusinessIndustrial manufacturing or distribution, specialized building services
Size$0.50–$1.50 million of annual cash flow
LocationNew York, New Jersey, or Connecticut

The numbers help us know whether there's a fit. We also care a lot about things that don't show up on a spreadsheet:

A strong reputation

Customers know you, trust you, and come back because you've consistently delivered for them.

Longstanding relationships

You've worked with many of the same customers, employees, and suppliers for years.

A capable team

There are people throughout the business who know their jobs well and have helped make the company what it is today.

An owner who cares about what comes next

You care about who takes over and what the transition means for your employees, customers, and business.

Confidential conversation

Thinking about what's next?

You don't need to have decided to sell your business to reach out.

If you're starting to think about selling, whether that's soon or a few years from now, we'd be happy to talk.
